Yes. Your enrollments are legally binding, just like a traditional “hard copy” union card printed on paper. If your membership and political action authorization language is actionable in hard copy, the same language is actionable online using our secure, legally vetted enrollment process. All enrollments comply with the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (‘UETA’), an Act adopted by 47 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. (New York, Illinois, and Washington states have adopted their own similar regulation with which UnionSignUp.com also complies.) UnionSignUp.com also complies with the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (‘ESIGN’).
